"..What?"

He's breathing heavy, the feeling of his hair and bloodied gauze sticking to his face along with the prickly feeling of wet grass brushing over his ankles utterly overwhelming to his senses. He doesn't understand -- head swimming with emotions, pure terror and guilt and utter confusion despite deep down knowing what happened, knowing what he did.

The Host jolts in his chair as he's snapped back to reality, still breathing heavily as he brought a hand up to feel over his face, cleaned and dressed as it normally is. He sits up straighter, running the same hand through his hair to brush it back as if to gain his bearings once again, his breath finally calming enough to its usual rhythm to allow him to speak again,

"..what was the question, again?"

"For.. more than one reason, actually. It is mainly just because it assists him in being able to 'see' around himself, gives him a sense of control and power. Theoretically he still has a sense of his surroundings without it, though it's fuzzy, closer to a sense of déjà vu instead."

"..He could, if he wanted, yes. But it's become habit for him, as well. I could speak in a first-person perspective, but it makes me uncomfortable and leaves me blinded in a way. It is.. better than not speaking at all though, for sure."

He's unsure at first, though any doubts seem to be easily outweighed by the Host's curiosity.

"A favorite? ..He's not sure, but he enjoys cinnamon-based sweets. Snickerdoodles are a favorite for him."

The Host seems to perk up a little, "..The Host wouldn't mind that, if he's being honest. He's always admired Trimmer's eccentric personality, it would sure make for an interesting outcome if we were to collaborate. Maybe some day."

"Oh, they're amazing, especially when you have an expressive narrator.. It unfortunately doesn't have the same feeling as reading yourself, but when he'd first found out about their existence the Host was no less than ecstatic. The impact a good narrator can make is phenomenal."

The Host lets out a soft breath of a chuckle, "He hadn't been expecting that. —Yes, though it is a struggle for the Host to pick up hobbies due to his.. well, issue. He has recently found comfort in collecting, however. Books, pens, old stuff, shiny things.. Stuff like that. He feels that he would also enjoy scrapbooking.. He misses reading regularly very much."
